Coming soon! From The Port to Porter Square, from Harvard to Strawberry Hill, Cambridge’s neighborhoods have evolved through the centuries but always have their own special stories to tell. Every year we’ll highlight a different pocket of the city in our Neighborhood History Centers, based in community centers, store fronts, and public spaces around town.
Cambridge’s stately Tory Row, where British loyalists lived during the American Revolution and where History Cambridge’s offices are now located, has historic ties to slavery and enslaved people. We’re joining with Brattle Street neighbors to uncover what we can do together to reconcile our neighborhood’s past and create an anti-racist present and future.
Can you help us identify, gather, and share the stories of all who have lived, worked, played, and learned in this special place? Tell us about your skills and interests and join our History Cambridge Corps of volunteers.
We send a monthly e-newsletter to subscribers, filled with stories and articles about our annual theme and updates about our activities.
