Can I conduct my own research in the History Cambridge archives?

Yes, by appointment only. Please read these guidelines, then contact us to make an appointment.

How can I donate archival material?

Email us with a description, including photos if possible, of your materials. History Cambridge is one of several organizations that hold records about the city’s history. We’ll help ensure that your materials find a suitable home in the proper archival collection. Thank you for helping contribute to the historical record of Cambridge.

Can you appraise my archival materials?

Please contact the Appraisers Association of America. History Cambridge staff are not certified appraisers.

How can I tour the Hooper-Lee-Nichols House?

The house is our office headquarters and houses our archival collection. While we do not have public drop-in hours, we do offer group tours for students and others. Learn more about the Five Senses Over Five Centuries tour, led by the costumed guides of Cambridge Historical Tours, and contact us to schedule a visit.
