Old Joe Clark
Old Joe Clark was a Greek Revival Style house at 32 Fayette Street, home to musicians. The house became well known for its square dances and contra dances. The music scene in the house began in 1958, and really took off in the 1970’s. Music was played in every common room and 8 musicians lived in the house, cooking, cleaning, and of course jamming together. But as time passed, the community diminished, and eventually, in 2009, the house became a private home again. But while the house is no longer a home for musicians, it was still important to the group of musicians that fostered their talent in its walls.
