Central Square Theater
The Central Square Theater is a collaboration between the Nora Theatre Company and the Underground Railway Theater. The Underground Railway Theater was founded in 1978 in Oberlin, Ohio. It takes its name from Oberlin, as it was one of the last stops on the Underground Railroad. Their performances combine actors, puppets, and music. They originally performed at the Arlington Center for the Arts. The Nora Theatre Company was founded in 1987. They have performed 55 shows since their inception. Their first two seasons were performed at the Lyric Stage, and from 1989-1986, and they performed at the Harvard Freshman Union. Both groups moved to the Central Square Theater in 2008.
